The must haves for this Spring if you want to stay stylish. First we like big, bright earrings. This accessory looks best with upswept hair, like a ponytail or bun. The ones pictured are a great example, and you can find colorful, beaded earrings almost anywhere.

Spring Essentials - big, bold earrings

Another spring trend is acid wash jeans, but if your like me and can't stand acid wash, distressed jeans will work, as well.

The jumpsuit is in style full force. Get one.

The bondage or Bandaid dress. They are super figure flattering and act almost like a spankx dress.

The platform shoe is the final Spring must have trend. This is great for those of us who could use a little extra height.

The trends for accessories this Spring 2009 is au natural. We will see a lot of natural materials like wood, stone and shell, and organic gemstones, like amber. This may be a reaction to the recession, using less expensive, more 'down to earth' materials.

I came across this super cool dress at Browns. It's Beatrice Boyle for Browns Focus and it's a simple white cotton mini dress with a unique and eye catching image. With this dress for Browns Focus, Beatrice Boyle shows her trademark distorted images of flawless models and glossy adveritising campaigns. Only $87 at Browns fashion.

Erin Featherston, a new, up and coming fashion designer, creates airy frocks, fairytale designs and has lots of ruffles. Her creations are thought to be very feminine and soft. Among her credentials, Fetherston collaborated with Ellen von Unwerth on several projects and has teamed up with Target for their Go! International collection. She received honors from the UPS Delivers Fashion's Future Initiative and the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation. In 2008, she was named a finalist for the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund.

I lover her designs. They are clean and light, a perfect look for warm summer months. Only drawback, her clothes are quite expensive.

Boucle Jacket in White, $1,430.

I am so excited that Alexander McQueen has gotton on board with Target to design inexpensive clothes that almost anyone can access. He is one of my favorite designers, and Target is one of my all around favorite stores. When I want a cute beach bag and don't have alot of money, Target always has something cute. Dittos for workout gear, swimsuits, tees, etc... But now, with Alexander McQueen on board, it will be even better. Here are some of his looks for the superstore giant.

Plus size line at Forever 21The Plus-Size apparel category gets little respect.

Americans are bigger than ever, but in a society that prizes svelte, athletic images, many manufacturers and retailers only make and carry sizes up to 10. That means the average American woman has to go to a plus size store to find clothes that fit. Forever 21 is wisely tapping into this market with a new line of plus sized clothes, out this June, called Faith 21.

Victoria Beckham is not only a hugely successful socialite, but she's also a super successful fashion designer. I didn't even have the chance to beg my husband to let me buy a dress, because they are already sold out at Net a Porter! They were just released! Judging buy the steep prices, not everyone is being affected by the recession.

3.1 Phillip Lim Ruched silk jumpsuit 3.1 Phillip Lim Ruched silk jumpsuit

I don't know why exactly, but I have always liked a well made jump suit. And this cream colored one by Philip Lim suits my tastes. This 3.1 Phillip Lim Ruched silk jumpsuit is made from off white silk, a ruched bustier and sheer top panel. The way it flows looks so elegant and luxurious. This would be a fabulous look for a party by the pool, as well as an evening soiree. Available at Net a Porter, $850.

I can always count on a Maison Martin Margiela collection to have a beautiful design and many strange/ugly designs.  Maison Martin Margiela has a history of revolting against the luxurious fashion world with garments of over sized proportions such as long arms, and with linings, seams and hems on the outside. This concept of deconstruction is evident in every one of his collections, many of his pieces are clearly not meant to be worn, but are more categorized as 'art'. For example, Mr Margiela famously redesigns by hand objects such as old wigs, canvases and silk scarves into couture garments. So it's no surprise his collections contain the 'weird' and 'ugly', for consumers like myself who appreciate fashion that is meant to be worn and flatter the female form.

Maison Martin Margiela Couture Spring 2009

The model's face covered up is obviously unusual, but the vest is decent, although not particularly flattering.

Maison Martin Margiela Couture Spring 2009

This is ridiculous, and no sane person would ever wear this outside of a runway. It is designed from lots of small pieces of denim sewn together.

Maison Martin Margiela Couture Spring 2009

I like this look a lot, it's quite beautiful, however in the real world it would need a flowy semi -sheer or silk skirt.

Maison Martin Margiela Couture Spring 2009

This is hideous. It looks like a Moo Moo.

Maison Martin Margiela Couture Spring 2009

This is interesting. It could be very pretty with black silk pants
