The dresses from the Fall 2009 D & G collection bring me mixed emotions, some are beautiful, while some look costumey and unflattering to the female form. And SHORT, I wouldn't wear any of these dresses without leggings or pants, the lengths are just way to short for reality. We may see them on some risque starlet, but it's not realistic for main street.

Here are some of my favorite looks from the Emporio Armani Fall 2009 Collection. Compared to his standard tux inspired designs, this collection that had a much more youthful, sometimes schoolgirl-ish feel. But I still thought the overall looks were sophisticated and classic.

Victoria Beckham is not only a hugely successful socialite, but she's also a super successful fashion designer. I didn't even have the chance to beg my husband to let me buy a dress, because they are already sold out at Net a Porter! They were just released! Judging buy the steep prices, not everyone is being affected by the recession.

Michael Kors Fall 2009 Collection Michael Kors Fall 2009 Collection

I absolutely love these two designs from the Michael Kors Fall 2009 Collection. I can absolutely see myself wearing them. It's nice to see so many designers with wearable runway fashion for the Fall 2009 season. These looks are tailored and sophisticated. He also had a few funky pieces, like this fushia fur coat.

I will be the first to admit I was surprised at the Twenty8Twelve Fall 2009 Collection. It was really good, despite being designed by actress Sienna Miller and her sister. It started off as a grunge collection in one direction, then as a glam collection in the other," said Sienna, "and then it all met somewhere in the middle." Their designs will be relatively inexpensive compared to other luxury brands, which will probably help their fledgling brand. The designs look to be geared towards the young, hip crowd with short hemlines and skin tight denim. The designs look alot like what movie star Sienna is often seen wearing when shes captured by the paparazzi. And since she's usually praised for her fashions, that's a good thing.

Vivienne Westwood's Red Label Fall 2009 collection had some wearable, fun designs that I could totally see myself wearing. They were practical and stylish. And then there were designs like the ones below.

These looks were just sloppy, in my opinion. Most perplexing of all, who is her target audience? Couture, not with Pamela Anderson, the new face of the business. What in the world kind of image is V.W. trying to convey with Pamela A. representing her designs? Has she seen how that woman dresses!?

Tory Burch Fall 2009 Collection Tory Burch Fall 2009 Collection Tory Burch Fall 2009 Collection

These are a few of the designs that I actually like from the Tory Burch Fall 2009 Collection. For some reason, she went away from her more feminine and classic looks towards military influenced tomboy tough looks.  I didn't like a single shoe from this collection, as they are all military looking boots. Some of the handbags are ok, but most of them sport state looking insignia on a unisex messenger design. In the past her look was preppy, which wasn't necessarily my speed, but it had faithful followers and I think this new turn she has made may hurt her. There are many 'edgy' tough looking designers, and very few preppy designers.

Look at these leggings and this bag - does that look original? I think Tory Burch made a huge mistake, but only time will tell.

Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Collection Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Collection Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Collection Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Collection Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Collection Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Collection Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Collection

I simply cannot get enough of Matthew Williamson. It's no wonder he is in negotiations with H & M for his own line and a new Meatpacking District boutique, he is a fabulous designer. What I love the most is that I could see myself wearing all of these designs, something that is rare for a runway collection. I didn't think it could get better than his Fall 2009 shoe collection, but his clothes are very close.  PETA is probably not a fan of his gorgeous fox shawls and his fur coats, but I am.

Check out the Matthew Williamson Fall 2009 Handbag collection.

Betsey Johnson Fall 2009 Collection Betsey Johnson Fall 2009 Collection Betsey Johnson Fall 2009 Collection Betsey Johnson Fall 2009 Collection Betsey Johnson Fall 2009 Collection Betsey Johnson Fall 2009 Collection Betsey Johnson Fall 2009 Collection Betsey Johnson Fall 2009 Collection

Betsey Johnson's Fall 2009 Collection is awfully reminiscent of the 80's, but in a good way. Rose prints, lace, and petticoats dominate this collection making it distinctly different from any other Fall 2009 collection, and as usual, distinctly Betsey Johnson. Her designs are a bit limited by age appropriateness, however. Unless you are 25 or younger, these designs will just look silly and costume-y. But for those of you who do fit the appropriate age bracket, it doesn't get much better than Betsey Johnson.
