In the Paris 2009 Fashion Week Chanel runway show, Karl Lagerfeld stayed closely true to the fashion houses' signature look with tweed blazers and knee length skirts, almost all in black and white. However he did go a little wild with lots of sheer and unique cut outs. He used big jewelry to accent his otherwise colorless outfits. I thought his fitted, black version of the very 'in' jumpsuit was much sexier and sleek than any others I have seen, although it will take an almost flawless female form to pull it off. Overall, I thought the collection was beautiful and classic, but somewhat predictable. Click here to check out the shoes from this collection.

Louis Vuitton Earrings

Louis Vuitton Earrings

The Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 collection was one of the most accessorized and out of all the impressive bags, shoes, and assorted baubles it was the earrings that caught our eyes. Now we are science fiction nuts so this just might be us but don't they remind you a little of a solar system model? Now this is a way to inspire scientific literacy among young women.

Stella McCartney Oversized striped cardigan

This cardigan looks so rich and comfy. Swap your coat for Stella McCartney's oversized knit for a chic outerwear solution this fall. Try belting this piece to alter the silhouette or leave open and layer with a scarf; it will look fabulous both ways. This multicolored oversized striped cardigan has a ribbed, asymetrical trim and elongated cuffs. It is 50% wool, 30% silk, 20% casmere. If you can spare the cash (lucky you), this is a fabulous look for colder weather. Available at Net a Porter, $2,795.

Alexander McQueen Striped column dress

This is the Alexander McQueen Striped column dress, and I think it's a fabulous day to night dress. The combination of the optical print and the structured shoulders makes this simple jersey dress instantly impactful. This piece will enhance your curves to perfection. The white center form will instantly slenderize your figure, which almost every girl needs. The structured shoulders add a modern, yet chic flair. And in black and white, this dress could work year round. Available at Net a Porter, $1,595.

Anna Sui Spring 2009

Anna Sui brought some bright and feminine fashions to the runway in her spring 2009 collection. Some of her shoes and handbags were a little strange, but her clothes were fantastic. I like that this collection is very light and unconfined for the warmer weather. The colors were bold and bright. And, most importantly, everything is wearable.

Diane Von Furstenburg Spring 2009 Diane Von Furstenburg Spring 2009 Diane Von Furstenburg Spring 2009 Diane Von Furstenburg Spring 2009

Definitely my absolute favorite designer, Diane Von Furstenburg. Her designs always flatter my figure and her feminine and beautiful pieces always reflect my tastes.

Light and feminine, this was a collection designed to flatter the female form. Cuts that complimented the body, weightless, flowing fabrics and beautiful jewel tones dominated and even the models seemed to be enjoying wearing the clothes. She incorporated a lot of bohemian, flower-child influences and some designs incorporated a tribal feel. Overall, the collection seemed to encapsulate the feel of spring perfectly.

Her handbags were also fabulous.

Karl Lagerfeld 2009 Spring Collection Karl Lagerfeld 2009 Spring Collection Karl Lagerfeld 2009 Spring Collection

There are many things I love about Karl Lagerfeld, but above all is that his couture is actually wearable. Almost every piece in his Spring 2009 collection I could see in my closet. The pictures above are just a few of my favorites. There were mostly neutral colors in this collection, but it maintained a more formal vibe than many of the other bright, colorful Spring collections.

I love the handbag with the image of Karl himself.
